Westwind Ranch, owned and operated by John & Linda Holden held their Annual "Calling All Cattlemen" Polled Hereford Bull Sale on November 8, at the ranch outside of Valier, MT.
A very select offering of bulls was offered to the buying public. These bulls were really stout, clean-made, high performing, and marked very well. The birthweights were moderate and the bulls were uniform from start to finish. All of the fall calving cows and calves were along the road into the sale facility and many of the buyers commented at what a beautiful set of cows and calves they were. The Holden's demand that their cows have very good udders and ultra-feminine and they had a big strapping set of calves at side.

Topping the sale was Westwind JWR Tundra 148R, a November 12, 2005, son of TH JWR SOP 16G 57G Tundra 63N out of a Victor bred dam. BW 72 Adj.205 733 NR 108 Adj.365 1202 BW+1.0 WW+44 YW+71 M+16 M&G+38. He sold for $5250 to Select Sires, Plain City, OH.

The next top bull was WR Domino Lad 309 0533, an October 2, 2005, son of WR C8 Warrior 17L 309 out of a CL 1 Domino 921J bred dam. BW 81 Adj.205 756 NR 116 Adj.365 1244 BW+1.9 WW+33 YW+55 M+17 M&G+34. Two-thirds interest and full possession sold for $5000 to Jack Pennington, Dickinson, ND.

The next top lot was WR Domino Lad 17L 0511, a September 7, 2005, son of C7 Westwind Warrior 17L out of an HH Advance 767G bred dam. BW 89 Adj.205 677 NR 104 Adj.365 1324 BW+.9 WW+33 YW+56 M+17 M&G+34. He sold for $3500 to Spring Hill Ranch, Dupuyer, MT.

One other top bull was WR Domino Lad 17L 0504, an August 26, 2005, son of C7 Westwind Warrior 17L out of an HH Advance 0072K bred dam. BW 76 NR 104 BW+.3 WW+34 YW+52 M+14 M&G+30. He sold for $3250 to Merrimac Cattle Company, Geyser, MT.
